Verder Scientific UK is the local branch of Verder Scientific, a leading high-tech company in the field of sample preparation and analysis. We are a dedicated and motivated team of15people, located in Hope Valley, and represent the six brands of our group in the domestic market, providing laboratories with innovative, precise and efficient solutions: Retsch is our specialist in laboratory mills and sieving equipment. Microtrac develops leading solutions for particle characterization. Carbolite supplies high-performance laboratory ovens. Eltra enables precise elemental analysis. QATM takes care of metallographic sample preparation and hardness testing and ERWEKA is our producer of pharmaceutical testing devices.

Primary responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs.
- Develop technical knowledge of products to support customer queries via Teams, e-mail and in person.
- Develop and implement UK brand strategy with support from MD and Manufacturing unit.
- Manage direct and third party (only one UK distributor) pipeline.
- Market research to understand target market activities and consumer behaviour.
- Support the marketing functions to increase lead generation through campaigns and promotions.
- Performance monitoring, track and analyse brand performance including market share and growth opportunities.
- Managing enquiries accurately through the CRM system from opportunity to order.
- Attendance to regular meetings and demonstrations at the Hope facility in Derbyshire will be required.
- Conducting customer demonstrations / trials both at the lab and at customer sites.
- Training regional team.
- Support cross selling activities across the other group companies with their peers.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Degree qualified in a scientific/technical discipline (preferred).
- Experience in selling scientific equipment (preferred).
- A driven “closer” who’s is motivated by achieving target.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, prioritise workload and the skills to be a good team player.
- Successful experience in account management role supporting mid-size to large business customers.
- Problem solving skills – with the ability to resolve customer issues or seek appropriate internal resources to facilitate resolution.
- Strong business acumen with a technical background.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and experience in CRM/ERP software
- Flexibility with regards to travelling within the UK and abroad (occasional site visits to manufacturing unit in Germany).
- Experience in selling or using equipment for material characterization would be advantageous, as would experience of working in laboratory and/or scientific environment.
- Hold a full clean driving license and hold a valid passport for occasional international travel.

- Core hours are 37.50 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 -12.30 pm (Early finish on a Friday).
